DATA MARTS FOR AD-HOC QUERY AND REPORTING
BayaTree has built data repositories that are designed to serve particular communities of knowledge workers. Data are gathered from operational records, data warehouses, and other sources. Our emphasis is to meet the specific demands of a particular group of knowledge users in terms of analysis, content, presentation, and ease-of-use.
In contrast to the production environment’s transactional tables, and the associated “canned” reports and queries, Data Marts stores information in a format that mirrors the way customers view data from a business perspective. The transactional data model is not understood by application users, nor should these users have direct access to data without first going through the security layer.
Date Marts developed by BayaTree accomplish the following:
- Sensitive data is anonymized and/or stored in protected areas that require secured access
- Supplementary logic and validations are added to the data extraction process
- Industry standard analysis and reporting tools are enabled (SAS, SPSS, Crystal Report, BO, J Review, etc.)
- Stress and accidental damage to the production data is alleviated
- Data are presented in an intuitive and business friendly manner
